Fair-Shares at our halls of residence

Battling food waste together

A Fair-Share station is available at our halls of residence in Chemnitz and Zwickau. The Chemnitz station in the hall of residence at Vettersstraße 52 (underneath the balconies) came about in June 2016 as a result of the efforts of the Chemnitz-Zwickau Student Union, the Chemnitz Foodsharing Student Group and the TU Chemnitz (NATUC) Project for Ecology and Sustainability.

In collaboration with ZwickShare and the Chemnitz-Zwickau Student Union, the Fair-Share station at the hall of residence at Innere Schneeberger Straße 23 opened in Zwickau on 30 September 2019.

Fair-sharers can put usable food, cosmetics, office materials, etc. into the station ‒ anything you no longer have a use for, but which someone else might want or need. “Don’t throw away – share” is the basic principle here. It’s a great way to swap unwanted items. However, there are a few rules that must be followed. Please note (sorry, in German only):
