To ensure you can get around easily during your studies and travel by bus and train at a reduced rate, all WHZ students are issued with a valid term ticket.
Students at University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau can purchase the Germany Semester Ticket for 34,80€ per month or 208,80€ per semester; from the 2026/2027 winter semester, the price will be 37,80€ per month or 226,80€ per semester. This ticket is available exclusively in digital form via the “RIDE” mobile website on your smartphone. As of 1 March 2024, the student ID card is no longer valid as a travel pass. The same terms of service apply to the Germany Semester Ticket as to the Germany Ticket.

Holders of the Germany Semester Ticket at WHZ can obtain a VMS Germany Ticket+ free of charge from the StuRa in Zwickau. Please note the following:
- Valid only within the VMS network (NOT on special transport services such as the Augustusburg Cable Car and the Fichtelberg Railway)
- Valid for 1 month from the time of validation at the ticket machine at the start of the journey until 04:00 on the same calendar day of the following month
- Non-transferable (the name must be entered by hand)
- You may bring a bicycle or dog all day, for up to 5 people (of whom a maximum of 1 person is over 15 years old) Mon–Fri from 18:00 to 04:00 the following day, and all day on weekends and public holidays
Transporting a bicycle is not included in the Germany Semester Ticket. An additional ticket is required for this; local fare regulations apply.
