In Chemnitz and Zwickau, students can borrow games from a collection of around 80 board and outdoor games in exchange for a deposit, which must be paid on site.

At cafete55 in Chemnitz, we lend out various outdoor games, such as table tennis bats and more.
Board games and card games can be borrowed for a deposit of €5 per game at the information desks in Chemnitz and Zwickau.

A range of outdoor games are available to borrow from cafete55.
All games were purchased by the Chair of Industrial Environmental Economics and Sustainability at Chemnitz University of Technology to enhance the quality of life on the Reichenhainer Straße campus.
The borrowing process works as follows:
Games are currently checked out and returned at the cash registers in cafete55 during opening hours.
When borrowing, your name, date, student ID or staff number, and any pre-existing damage to the games will be noted. A deposit is required for higher-value games.
Borrowed games must be returned in good condition to the cafeteria cash registers by closing time on the day of checkout, or by 11:00 the following day at the latest. Returns and any minor damage to the equipment are also recorded in writing. In the event of significant damage or loss, compensation will be charged based on the game’s age of use. Further clarification is handled by the cafeteria management.
The games are cleaned and disinfected in the cafeteria after each loan in accordance with current hygiene guidelines.
In the interests of everyone, we ask that the games be treated with care.
