How do you apply for BAföG?

The easiest way to apply for BAföG is online using the "BAföG Digital" application wizard. This tool allows you to quickly and easily create and edit your BAföG application digitally. You can then easily submit the application along with all the necessary documents directly via the tool.

  • Go to id.bund.de/de
  • Select "Create Account"
  • Click on "Username and Password"
  • Click on "Create account" and confirm the message
  • Follow the rest of the registration process
  • Confirm your account via the email you receive
  • Go to "Link to bafoeg-digital.de/"; by clicking the "Apply for BAföG" link and selecting the registration option as an applicant, you will be prompted to enter your BundID login credentials; after that, you can complete the BAföG application online
