What kinds of questions and issues can I take to the Academic Advising Office?

The Academic Advising Service is available to all students who are unsure where or how to begin their studies, who are dissatisfied with their academic performance, or who struggle with concentration issues or distractions. In addition, the Learning Advisory Service specifically supports students pursuing higher education as a second career. If some time has passed between leaving school and starting their current studies, focused learning can often feel unfamiliar and challenging. The Learning Advisory Service can help address this.

Depending on individual needs, topics such as time and self-management, relaxation and concentration techniques, procrastination, motivation for studying, or media use can be discussed.

What types of academic guidance are available?

The study counselling programme is designed to provide support for a limited period of time. In one-to-one sessions spread over several appointments, your study habits are observed, analysed and optimised.

But what if the exam is already next week? In that case, we condense the study counselling into a ‘crash course’ with tips and tricks for your own learning, without going into too much depth.

You choose which option seems best for your situation.
