On 1 October 2026, the first students moved into their new homes.
After just 15 months of construction, the modernisation of the student hall of residence at Innere Schneeberger Straße 23, Building 1, is largely complete.
A total of 287 accommodation places have been created, comprising 125 fully furnished studio flats with approximately 16 square metres of living space, two accessible flats and 160 places in modern two-person shared flats.
The remaining work will be completed by early 2027, after which the Null13 student club will also move back into the hall of residence. A highlight will be the planting of climbing plants on the balconies on the west and east sides of the hall of residence.
We still have accommodation available!

The Chemnitz-Zwickau Studentenwerk has invested around 15 million euros in the modernisation of the building, which was constructed in 1971. Funding comes from the ‘Junges Wohnen’ support programme, the Free State of Saxony, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Studentenwerk’s own resources.
