Under certain conditions, you can apply for BAföG to fund your studies abroad. Which office is responsible for your case depends on the country in which you wish to study.
Unlike with domestic funding, responsibility for BAföG funding for vocational training abroad lies exclusively with the student finance office responsible for the relevant federal state, regardless of which federal state you come from or where you have been undertaking your training so far.
Financial assistance may be provided for training abroad if certain specific requirements are met. However, all the eligibility criteria that apply in Germany must be met. There are also a few additional requirements. Essentially, the following are eligible for funding:
