Club der Kulturen - Club of Cultures

The "Club der Kulturen", known among students as CdK, has helped shape social and cultural life on the Reichenhainer Straße campus as a student club for nearly two decades, making it an important part of student life.

Under the umbrella of the Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau, the club rooms will continue to host a diverse range of cultural events. They are suitable for workshops, concerts, country-specific theme evenings, game and barbecue evenings, parties and, above all, a meeting place for international students. Thus, the CdK will continue to be a symbol for internationality and open encounters in the heart of the TU Chemnitz campus.

I would like to rent the Club der Kulturen. How does the booking process work?

The Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau has taken over the rooms of the CdK in order to continue to make them available as a place of encounter. However, we would like the club to be run and designed by students again. If you are motivated and enjoy starting an initiative, taking responsibility for the CdK and being a host for many other student initiatives and events, please feel free to contact us at cdk@swcz.de.

FAQs "Club der Kulturen"

• I would like to rent the Club der Kulturen - How does the booking process work?

  STEP 1

  Please first fill in the application form and send it to: cdk@swcz.de. Please bear in mind that the application must be submitted at least two weeks before the planned event. We will then contact you shortly and clarify any open questions.

   

  STEP 2 

  You will receive the room usage agreement and other documents required for the rental. Please read everything carefully, sign the contract (digital signature is possible) and return it to: cdk@swcz.de. If you wish, we can also arrange an appointment for a personal viewing before the planned event.

   

  STEP 3

  As last step of the booking, you will receive a invoice from us. The total amount must be visable on the bank account of CdK before the keys are handed over to you. So please transfer the money in good time. Please also make sure to use your contract number for the intended purpose of the bank transfer. Cash payments are not accepted.
• What resources of the club can I use?

  The CdK has three beverage refrigerators and one cooking facilities for heating food. One big screen, a music system (loudspeaker system with various connections), seating as well as the stage, toilets etc. which can be used when renting the club. A bar service can currently not be provided. However, the club allows flexible self-use.
• How big is the "Club der Kulturen" and for how many guests can it be used?

  The CdK is approximately 200 square meters and is open to groups of up to 100 guests.
