New BAföG app and new BAföG calculator now available

BAföG is one of the central instruments for creating equal opportunities in Germany. The BAföG app and the digital BAföG calculator make it easier to apply. BAföG supports young people in pursuing an education that matches their abilities, regardless of their family's financial situation. Millions of young people and young adults have already benefited from BAföG. Since 2021, citizens have been able to apply for BAföG online. The free BAföG digital app now provides support. Users can now send documents relating to their existing BAföG application to the relevant office from their cell phone or tablet and view the status of the application. The BAföG Digital app also includes the new BAföG calculator. It can be used to determine your entitlement to educational support after answering a few questions.
